Effect of Cr powder on thermal conductivity and mechanical property of diamond tool

  • Diamond powder,Cu-Sn alloy,graphite and vinyl acetate polymer were used the main raw material to prepare,Cu-matrix bonding diamond tool by hot-pressing sintering technique.The effect of Cr powder on thermal conductivity and mechanical property of diamond tool was investigated.Resultsshow that diamond tool with Cr powder has better thermal conductivity and mechanical property when compared to that without Cr powder:the relative density and thermal conductivity are about 98.46%and 110.43 W/(m·K);mechanical properties including flexural strength,compression strength and impact strength are 77.54 MPa,108.10 MPa and 4.06J/cm2,respectively.Both diamond tools show obvious characteristics of brittle fracture in their compressive and flexural load-displacement curves.
