In order to reveal the influence of dressing plate wheel on grain morphology of mono-layer brazed diamond grinding wheel, the morphology was observed and measured in different phases of dressing by using the optical microscope. The changes of abrasive wear form, cutting edge width, top surface area and cutting edge radius were statistically analyzed to characterize the change of grain morphology. The results show that attritious wear mainly occurs in the process of dressing with plate wheel, and that a few grinding grains are fractured and sheared off. The ratio of wear mentioned above increases gradually. Meanwhile, with the increase of the dressing amount, the average cutting width and the average top surface area increase gradually, while the average cutting edge radius increases firstly and then decreases.
