Investigations are made on diamond parameters,such as size,concentration and strength,based on filter cutting with metal bond blade to study the influence of these parameters on cutting performance of the blade,namely speed,chipping and blade life.The results show that as diamond size increases,cutting speed increases and then decreases while the maximum cutting speed is 10 mm/s with diamond size of 7-14 μm.It is also concluded that blades prepared with high-strength diamonds possesses higher cutting speed.In addition,high-strength diamonds would enhance blade life,and so will higher diamond size and concentration.On the other hand,diamond concentration should be 35%-50%to maintain good chipping performance.
