Fabrication of porous structure on diamond abrasive surface

摘要: 采用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)和X射线能谱仪(EDS)对高温高压(HPHT)合成的一种金刚石磨料的成分与结构进行分析。结果表明:微米尺寸的Ti的化合物颗粒分散在金刚石颗粒表面与内部;金刚石颗粒表面的颗粒夹杂物经过氧化处理与酸处理后被去除,形成了金刚石表面的多孔结构;表面多孔结构的金刚石磨料被推荐用于对砂轮锋利性要求较高的磨削过程,以保持砂轮的自锐性并提高磨削效率。Abstract: SEM and EDS characterization have provided insight into the chemical composition and microstructure of a particular kind of HPHT synthesized diamond abrasive.Fine dispersion of micron titanium compound particles was observed both on surface and inside the diamond grains.The particles were found to be removed from the grain surface by oxidation and subsequent acid corrosion.After such treatment, porous structures were formed on the diamond grain surface.The possible beneficial effect of the porous structure, such as self-sharpening performance and high grinding efficiency of diamond wheel is suggested.
